The Michigan State Spartans scored on their opening drive to built a 31-7 halftime lead. The 14 first-quarter points were more than MSU had finished with in its other three road games. Although the Iowa Hawkeyes rallied in the second half with two touchdowns, it would be the Spartans coming out of Kinnick Stadium with a 37-21 victory over Iowa.

It was MSU's first win at Iowa City since 1989. The victory kept Michigan State in the driver's seat to win the Big Ten's Legends Division with two games remaining.

Spartans quarterback Kirk Cousins finished the game throwing for 260 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions.

After going down to Iowa last week, the Michigan Wolverines bounced back with a 31-14 road win over the Illinois Fightning Illini at Memorial Stadium.
