Lakers finish off Nuggets; Celtics earn Game 1 win
Rajon Rondo ran into the backcourt, grabbing the inbounds pass in stride, avoiding a foul, and dribbled out the final 3.4 seconds to help the Boston Celtics earn a 92-91 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers in the opener of their Eastern Conference semifinal series.
Pau Gasol had 23 points, 17 rebounds, six assists, & four blocked shots and Metta World Peace, formely known as Ron Artest, scored 15 points in his return from a seven-game suspension as the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Denver Nuggets in a thrilling 96-87 victory to win their first-round series. Up next for the Lakers is a trip to Oklahoma City to face a well-rested Thunder team in the Western Conference semifinals.
