Sanchez's debut spoiled by Toronto as Tigers lose, 5-1
Anibal Sanchez threw just four balls in his first three innings in his debut with the Tigers at the Rogers Centre, but Toronto took advantage of his mistakes by hitting three homeruns as the Blue Jays beat Detroit, 5-1. The Tigers have now lost three in a row and four of five.
On offense, Brennan Boesch was the only hitter producing for the Tigers as he finished the day with two hits, which included a double and an RBI.
Trailing only 2 1/2 games behind the Chicago White Sox in the AL Central divison, the Tigers will look to gain ground Sunday afternoon when they wrap up the weekend series with Toronto at 1 pm.
