Lindsey Harding scored 23 points to help the Atlanta Dream take a double-digit lead in the first quarter and went on to a 75-66 win over the Indiana Fever in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinals. Atlanta led 25-15 after the 1st quarter and were up 13 heading to the 4th quarter. WNBA scoring leader Angel McCoughtry added 16 points & nine rebounds for Atlanta, which beat Indiana in three games in the East finals a year ago. The Dream, who reached the WNBA Finals each of the last two years, opened the playoffs with a road win for the third straight year. Game 2 is set for this Sunday in Atlanta.

Lindsay Whalen scored 20 points to lead the defending champion Minnesota Lynx in a 78-70 victory over the Seattle Storm in the opener of the Western Conference semifinals. Seimone Augustus scored 19 points, Maya Moore added 16, and Rebekkah Brunson had 12 points & 11 rebounds for Minnesota. Whalen also tallied six assists and four rebounds. The Lynx shot 46% against a Storm team that held opponents to a league-low 39% this season, and hit 22-of-28 free throws - including 8 for 10 from Whalen. Game 2 of the three-game series is set for this Sunday at Seattle.
