Sparks & Sun sweep their way into conference finals

Candace Parker scored 32 points as the Los Angeles Sparks beat the San Antonio Silver Stars, 101-94, to complete a sweep of their Western Conference semifinals series. The Sparks advanced after surviving a furious comeback in the 4th quarter by the Silver Stars, who were forced to play at the Freeman Coliseum, due to a concert at the AT&T Center. Los Angeles will face the winner of the other West series, in which defending champion Minnesota leads 1-0 heading into Sunday's game at Seattle.

Tina Charles had 25 points & 14 rebounds and Kara Lawson scored 15 points - all on 3s, including two late in the 4th quarter - as the Connecticut Sun closed the game out with a 14-0 run to beat the New York Liberty, 75-62, to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals. Lawson hit a 3 with 3:58 left to start the Sun's game-ending run. Connecticut will next face the winner of the Atlanta-Indiana series, which the Dream lead 1-0 heading into Sunday's game at home.
