Cabrera adds to his triple crown run in 4-2 loss to Royals

Miguel Cabrera continued to add to his Triple Crown resume as the AL Central Division Champion Detroit Tigers lost to the Kansas City Royals, 4-2. Cabrera, in first place in all three major offensive categories (batting average, home runs, RBIs), was 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
Four of the Tigers' regular starters were allowed to take the night off: Austin Jackson, Omar Infante, Jhonny Peralta and Andy Dirks. Prince Fielder (0-for-2, walk) was pulled after reaching safely on an error by Falu at third to leadoff the 6th inning. In the bottom of the inning, catcher Alex Avila (0-for-2, walk) was given the rest of the night off as well.
In Wednesday's season finale in Kansas City, Luis Marte will start for the Tigers.
