Titans back above .500 after win over Loyola
Though it's early in February, the Titans got back that winning feeling after defeating the Loyola Ramblers 81-71. Junior guard Chase Simon was a major factor as he led the team with a season-high 28 points, including going 7-for-8 from the free throw line. With the win, the Titans (13-12, 7-6 HL) are once again above .500 & improved to fourth place in the Horizon League. Detroit will stay at Calihan Hall this Monday night at 7 pm as they look to go up even further in the HL standings when they take on the first-place Cleveland State Vikings.
Meanwhile in the state of Indiana, the women had a rough time with Valparaiso as they went down 57-46. Sophomores Yar Shayok & Demeisha Fambro had season-high rebounds (13 & 7 respectively), but it was not enough to overcome the Crusaders. The ladies (10-12, 4-7 HL) will return home next Saturday when they face the Wright State Raiders at 2 pm from Calihan Hall.
