After 21 years away from playoff action, Francisco Liriano tossed seven dominant innings as the Pittsburgh Pirates roared past the Cincinnati Reds, 6-2, in the National League Wild Card Game to advance to the NL Divisional Series to face St. Louis, beginning this Thursday.

In front of a black-clad crowd savoring its first postseason game since 1992, Russell Martin hit two homeruns, Marlon Byrd also connected, and Andrew McCutchen reached base four times.

In the American League, the Cleveland Indians are set to host their Wild Card game against the Tampa Bay Rays this Wednesday night at 8 pm. The winner will head to Boston for the ALDS, which begins this Friday afternoon.
