U-M stays undefeated in Big Ten; East beats West in the MAC
The Michigan Wolverines prevailed at Crisler Center with a 80-67 win over the Penn State Nittany Lions. With the win, the Wolverines (12-4) are tied for first place in the Big Ten with in-state rival Michigan State at 4-0. Nik Stauskas finished with 21 points, Glenn Robinson III had 15 points, and Jon Horford added 11 points for the maize & blue.
The Eastern Michigan Eagles earned a hard-fought victory over the Western Michigan Broncos, 56-37, at EMU's Convocation Center. With the win, the Eagles moved up to a 10-6 (2-1 MAC) record and a share for the lead of the MAC West Division, while the Broncos fell to 9-6 (2-1 MAC). The 37 points scored by the Broncos are the fewest allowed since Eastern held Northern Illinois to 25 points last year. EMU were led by Darell Combs, who had 14 points on 4-of-9 shooting from the field, and Mike Talley, whose 14 points came from going 3-of-5 from three-point range and hitting five free throws.
