MSU women knocks off U-M late; Oakland falls hard to WSU
Branndais Agee made the clutch steal, grabbed a huge offensive rebound, and converted a lay-up that helped the #2 Michigan State Spartans to knock off the #7 Michigan Wolverines, 61-58, in the women's 2nd round of the Big Ten tournament.
Senior Annalise Pickrel led MSU with 18 points as the Spartans owned the boards with a 39-26 rebounding advantage to stay close. The win sends the #2 Spartans into the 6 p.m. Big Ten semifinal game against #3 Nebraska.
Miles Dixon scored 20 points to lead the #3 Wright State Raiders over the #6 Oakland Golden Grizzlies,73-57, in the quarterfinals of the Horizon League tournament.
Travis Bader scored 20 points on 5-of-13 shooting and Dante Williams added 13 points to lead Oakland. The Golden Grizzlies' season comes to a close with a record of 13-20.
