Kings end Selanne's career and Ducks' season with 6-2 win
The Los Angeles Kings ended the career of hockey icon Teemu Selanne after finishing off their Southern California rival Anaheim Ducks, 6-2, in Game 7 of the Western Conference semifinals.
Justin Williams, Jeff Carter, and Mike Richards scored in the 1st period while goaltender Jonathan Quick made 25 saves to help the Kings claim their first postseason "Freeway Faceoff" series with back-to-back wins over top-seeded Anaheim.
The Kings advanced to their third straight Western Conference Finals by improving to 6-0 when facing elimination this spring. With two Game 7 wins under their belt this season, Los Angeles will head to Chicago to face the Blackhawks in Game 1 this Sunday afternoon at 3 pm.
