Giants go 6+ hours to take 2-0 lead; Dodgers even NLDS at 1 628x471

The Giants and Nationals played from afternoon until just past midnight when Brandon Belt's homerun in the 18th inning lifted San Francisco to their 10th consecutive postseason victory as they defeated Washington, 2-1, to earn a 2-0 lead in their National League Division Series. The teams tied the mark for most innings in a postseason game and set a time record of 6 hours & 23 minutes. They combined to use 17 pitchers and 24 position players.

The Giants will look to sweep the best-of-five NLDS at home this Monday evening in Game 3, with Madison Bumgarner facing Washington's starting pitcher & former Detroit Tiger Doug Fister.
