Giants take over Game 1 of World Series with 7-1 win over KC
Madison Bumgarner took a shutout into the seventh inning, Hunter Pence homered early and the Giants showed off their October poise, putting a sudden stop to the Kansas City Royals' perfect postseason roll by romping 7-1 in the Series opener
Bumgarner improved to 3-0 and had extended his scoreless streak to 21 innings before Salvador Perez homered with two outs in the 7th inning. With the Giants winning the series opener, it's a proven fact that the Game 1 winner has won 15 of the last 17 World Series.
The Royals will try to get even in Game 2 this Wednesday night at 8 pm ET when rookie Yordano Ventura starts against Giants veteran Jake Peavy.
