CMU & MSU women pull off easy wins; Arizona crushes Oakland
A strong 2nd-half performance helped the Central Michigan Chippewas earn a decisive 91-63 win over the Delaware State Hornets. The CMU bench came through in a big way as they finished the night with 32 points, 16 rebounds, and nine assists. The Chippewas (4-3) will head to Minnesota for the Subway Classic, where they will face South Carolina (9-0) this Saturday afternoon at 1 pm. Meanwhile the Hornets will travel to the Motor City where they will face the Detroit Titans at Calihan Hall this Thursday night at 7 pm.
Aerial Powers had 23 points, seven rebounds, and five assists as the Michigan State Spartas dominated the Alcorn State Braves, 77-41. Tori Jankoska had 17 points and Becca Mills finished with 10 points & seven rebounds for the Spartans. MSU (7-2) will head south to the state of Texas to face Baylor this Saturday afternoon at 4 pm.
Freshman Stanley Johnson matched his season high with 18 points as the Arizona Wildcats tore apart the Oakland Golden Grizzlies, 101-64. Oakland head coach Greg Kampe was ejected after drawing his second technical with 11:30 to play in the 2nd half. Oakland's next game will be in Pittsburgh this Saturday afternoon to face the Panthers at 4 pm.
