The Michigan Wolverines used a 20-2 1st-half run to record their first season sweep of Michigan State since the 1999-2000 season with a 72-59 victory over the Spartans inside the Breslin Center.

Senior Cyesha Goree recorded her 13th double-double of the season as she led Michigan with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Freshman Katelynn Flaherty scored a team-high 19 points on 7-for-10 shooting and sophomore Siera Thompson contributed with 16 points and six rebounds.

Both teams will be back in action this Sunday afternoon as Michigan returns home to Ann Arbor to host Rutgers at 2 pm while Michigan State heads to Minnesota to play the Golden Gophers at 3 pm.

Freshman Darianne Seward scored a career-high 28 points, but it wasn't enough as the Detroit Titans suffered a tough loss to the Valparaiso Crusaders, 74-68, at Calihan Hall.

Seward also added six rebounds and two steals. Redshirt sophomore Rosanna Reynolds finished with 17 points, a game & season-high eight assists, and six rebounds for Detroit. Senior Ellisha Crosby contributed with 11 points, seven rebounds, three assists, two blocks, and two steals.

After a weekend of rest, the Titans (8-13, 3-5 HL) will look to regroup this Wednesday night when they travel to Chicago to take on the UIC Flames at the Pavilion. Game time is set for 8 pm.

Jarrod Uthoff had 16 points and nine rebounds as the Iowa Hawkeyes earned a 72-54 road victory over the Michigan Wolverines. U-M did not score in the final 6:58 of the 1st half.

Aubrey Dawkins led Michigan with 16 points, Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman scored 11 points, and Spike Albrecht finished the night with 10 points.

The Wolverines (13-10, 6-5 Big Ten) will hit the road this weekend as they head to Indiana to face the Hoosiers this Sunday afternoon at 1 pm.
