Red Wings earn rare shootout win against Chicago, 3-2
Goaltender Jimmy Howard made 32 saves through overtime and denied Patrick Sharp on the final play in the shootout as the Detroit Red Wings earned a 3-2 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks.
Tomas Tatar and Gustav Nyquist scored in the shootout for Detroit, who won for just the third time in 11 shootouts this season. Tatar also scored in regulation and Darren Helm finished the night off with a goal & an assist.
The Red Wings (32-14-10) will continue their long road trip in the state of Texas this Saturday night when they take on the Dallas Stars at 8 pm.
