UDM brings in Bernard Scott as new women's basketball coach
Bernard Scott, a longtime Horizon League assistant and associate women's head coach of the Cleveland State Vikings, was named the 11th women's basketball head coach in Detroit Titans' history.
Scott was the assistant coach at Cleveland State over the last five years and was promoted to associate head coach prior to the 2013-14 season. During that time, he helped the Vikings win 79 games, make two trips to the Horizon League semifinals, and earned two postseason bids -- the quarterfinals of the Women's Basketball Invitational in 2011 and the 1st round of the WNIT this past season.
The Cleveland, Ohio native joined the Vikings after spending two seasons as an assistant coach at Youngstown State (2008-10), and has also served as an assistant coach at Arizona (2007-08), Dayton (2005-07), and his alma mater Toledo (2001-05).
