Tampa Bay takes 3-0 lead; Capitals control East semis, 3-1
Tyler Johnson's only shot of the night slipped past Carey Price with 1.1 seconds remaining to give the Tampa Bay Lightning a 2-1 victory over the Montreal Canadiens and a commanding 3-0 lead in their Eastern Conference semifinal series.
Goaltender Ben Bishop stopped 30 shots for Tampa Bay, who are now 8-0 against Montreal this season.
After winning their fifth straight playoff game, the Lightning will go for the sweep this Thursday night at 7 pm in Tampa.
Andre Burakovsky scored his first two postseason goals and goalie Braden Holtby stopped a penalty shot to give the Washington Capitals a 2-1 victory over the New York Rangers for a 3-1 lead in their Eastern Conference semifinals.
Burakovsky tied the game in the 2nd period, and then put Washington ahead for good 24 seconds into the 3rd period.
The Capitals will look to wrap up the series in Game 5 this Friday night at 7 pm inside Madison Square Garden in New York City.
