Ian Kinsler saves Tigers with two HRs in win over Seattle, 5-4
One day after being ejected for throwing a bat in the direction of an umpire, ian Kinsler homered twice, including a go-ahead two-run shot in the 8th inning, to help the Detroit Tigers defeat the Seattle Mariners, 5-4.
Al Alburquerque (1-0) picked up his first decision in 60 tries for Detroit after pitching a scoreless 8th inning and Joakim Soria pitched in the 9th inning for his 21st save.
The Tigers will meet the Mariners again at Comerica Park this Tuesday night at 7 pm.
