Tigers lose third straight game to Kansas City, 6-1
Lorenzo Cain went 4-for-4 with a homerun and Yordano Ventura pitched six scoreless innings as the Kansas City Royals defeated the Detroit Tigers, 6-1.
After yielding only 13 homeruns combined in the past two seasons, Tigers starting pitcher Anibal Sanchez (10-10) gave up all three homeruns on the night, bringing his season total to 28 -- tied for most in the American League. The Tigers did, however, snapped a season-worst 17-inning scoreless drought with a run in the 7th inning against reliever Franklin Morales.
Detroit looks to break out of their slump when they conclude their three-game series with the Royals this Wednesday night at 8 pm.
