Victor Martinez hit a tiebreaking RBI double in a three-run 11th inning as the Detroit Tigers defeated the Houston Astros, 4-2.
Detroit's starting pitcher Justin Verlander gave up only three hits and struck out seven batters in seven innings. He retired 12-of-13 at one point, including eight straight, and passed Barry Zito for 93rd in strikeouts with 1,884.
The Tigers will conclude their three-game weekend series with Houston this Sunday afternoon at 2 pm.
