Sweep denied as Tigers fall hard to Kansas City, 10-3

Kendrys Morales hit three homeruns to lead the Kansas City Royals to a 10-3 win over the Detroit Tigers. Morales also hit a triple and set a team record with 15 total bases.

Detroit's starting pitcher Alfredo Simon (13-10) allowed eight runs and 13 hits in just 4 & 1/3 innings.

The Tigers will remain home at Comerica Park to start a four-game series with the Chicago White Sox, which begins this Monday with a doubleheader (Game 1 at 1 pm; Game 2 at 7 pm).
