U-M goes to 8-3 with win over NKU; CMU women fall to Memphis
Caris LeVert pulled off a rare triple-double in Ann Arbor as the Michigan Wolverines came away with a 77-62 win over the Horizon League's newest member, the Northern Kentucky Norse.
LeVert finished the night with 13 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists, which ended up being just the fourth triple-double in Michigan's basketball history.
After the finals are done, the Wolverines will be back in the Crisler Center to take on another Horizon League member, Youngstown State, this Saturday evening at 6 pm.
The Central Michigan Chippewas committed a season-high 20 turnovers in losing to the Memphis Tigers, 64-61, at McGuirk Arena. Loysha Morris stripped the ball from CMU point guard Da’Jourie Turner and drove for a field goal with 7 seconds remaining to give the Chips their fourth consecutive loss.
Tinara Moore scored 13 points & grabbed 12 rebounds to lead Central Michigan (4-4) while Reyna Frost, who made her first career start, and Cassie Breen each finished with 11 points & eight rebounds.
When the players are done with finals this week, the Chippewas will return to the court this Monday afternoon to host SIU Edwardsville at 2 pm.
