Central women survive against Western; U-M men beats Rutgers

The Central Michigan Chippewas defeated their MAC & in-state rival Western Michigan Broncos, 53-51, in a low-scoring back-and-fourth defensive battle that came down to the final possession.

Central shot just 40% from the field & 35% from 3-point range and yet, held a 40-34 rebounding advantage. Western shot only 37% and was limited to a lowly 20% from three-point land.

Both teams will return to action this Saturday afternoon when the Chippewas host Miami (OH) at 1 pm while the Broncos travel to Kent State to face the Golden Flashes at 2 pm.
