9th inning heroics goes Tigers' way in defeating Astros, 3-2
Jose Iglesias capped a two-out rally with an infield single to score Tyler Collins to help the Detroit Tigers win their fifth straight game with a 3-2 victory over the Houston Astros. Tigers are now a half-game ahead of Houston as both teams chase Boston for the second AL wild-card spot.
Detroit's starting pitcher Justin Verlander (11-6) got his first complete game of the season after striking out 11 batters while allowing two runs & five hits.
The Tigers will wrap up their 3-game weekend series with the Astros at Comerica Park this Sunday afternoon at 1 pm.
