Lions make playoffs, but lose North title to Packers, 31-24
To end the NFL's 2016 regular season, the Green Bay Packers capped off a six-game winning streak with a 31-24 victory over the Detroit Lions to become the NFC North division champions.
Quarterback Matthew Stafford went 26-of-41 for 347 yards with two touchdowns and an interception for Detroit, who officially made the playoffs before the game started when the N.Y. Giants defeated Washington earlier in the evening.
The Lions (9-7), who made the playoffs for the second time in three years under head coach Jim Caldwell, will be the NFC's 6th-seed and will travel to Seattle to play at 3rd-seed Seahawks in the Wild Card game this Saturday night at 8:15 pm.
