Verlander unable to get run support as Tigers fall to Indians, 4-0
Mike Clevinger, who made it to the big leagues last season, outpitched Justin Verlander for the second time in a week to lead the Cleveland Indians to a 4-0 shutout victory over the Detroit Tigers.
Verlander (5-6) gave up just one run in 6 & 2/3 innings for Detroit and struck out six batters after the Indians snapped his streak of 331 consecutive games with at least one strikeout last Sunday.
Before heading to Miami for the break, All-Stars Michael Fulmer and Justin Upton look to end the 1st half of the season on a good note as the Tigers close their 3-game weekend series with Cleveland this Sunday night at 8 pm.
