Seattle's Cano hits 10-inning HR to help AL defeat NL, 2-1
Seattle's Robinson Cano homered off of Chi. Cubs closer Wade Davis in the 10th inning to help the American League defeat the National League, 2-1, for their fifth straight victory at the 88th annual MLB All-Star Game in Miami, Florida.
In a game where the winner no longer earns the right to have home field advantage in the World Series, the All-Star game was dominated by pitching until Cano earned MVP honors with his one clutch swing in the 10th inning. Detroit's Justin Upton contributed with a base hit soon after before being caught in a double play to end the inning.
With a trading deadline looming and the push for the playoffs ready to begin, all Major League Baseball teams will start the 2nd half of the season this Friday night, featuring the Tigers hosting Toronto inside Comerica Park at 7 pm.
