MSU women eliminated by Green Bay, 65-56
The last of the Michigan teams in this year's NCAA tournaments, the women of the Michigan State Spartans, has been eliminated. Committing 24 turnovers and shooting poorly in the 1st half became MSU's downfall as #5 Green Bay defeated the #4 Spartans, 65-56 in the 2nd round of the NCAA women's tournament. Kalisha Keane led MSU with 20 points, but it wasn't enough to overcome the performance of four Green Bay players in double digits. With the win, the Phoenix will now face #1 Baylor in the Sweet 16 of the Dallas region on Sunday night.
Also advancing to the Sweet 16 are Connecticut, Oklahoma, Louisville, Georgetown, Georgia, & Texas A&M. The Sweet 16 will begin on Saturday, March 26th in the Dayton & Spokane regions followed by the Philadelphia & Dallas regionals on Sunday, March 27th.
