Titan women return home with a vengeance
Despite going 2-5 on the road since mid-November & following an impressive road win against Michigan in Ann Arbor last week, the Detroit Titans returned to Calihan Hall for the 1st time in over a month to continue their dominance as they crushed local native Marygrove College 68-27. 27 points was the second fewest allowed by the Titans in school history. The record is 17 points back in February 1978 against Madonna University. Cherridy Thorton lead the Titans with 13 points & a career high 9 rebounds.
Now that the non-conference games are out of the way, the 6-5 Detroit Titans turn their attention to the Horizon League season. The Titans will spend the New Year's weekend on the road in the state of Wisconsin, starting with #23 Green Bay (10-1) at 8pm ET on New Year's Eve and then against Milwaukee (3-7) on Sunday at 3pm ET. Afterwards, the women will be back home on Thursday, January 6 against Valparaiso at 7 pm.
As for the men, the 7-6 team will be home to resume Horizon League play for the new year in the "Detroit vs. Wisconsin teams" weekend as they play Green Bay (6-7) this Thursday at 7 pm, followed by a New Year's Day encounter with Milwaukee (6-7) at 1 pm.
