Early Friday morning, the wrestling world lost a great legend in the "Macho Man" Randy Savage. Driving with his wife in Tampa, Florida, Savage reportedly suffered a heart attack and veered off the road straight into a tree. Though his wife, Lynn, survived the accident with only minor injuries, Savage was not so fortunate. At the Largo Medical Center, doctors declared that, due to his injuries, he was not able to make it. He was 58 years old.

Though this is a sad day for all wrestling fans around the world, let us not forget why we love wrestling in the first place. It was because of great superstars like Macho Man. With a personality of his own, fans grew to love him & respect everything that he did for the business. Randy Savage provided great moments that will live on for years to come.

In the 1980s & 90s, Macho Man, along with the late Miss Elizabeth, who many say was the original lady of wrestling, established a career in what was then known as the World Wrestling Federation. Savage became one of the greatest Intercontinental Champions of all time and had many classic matches as IC champ, including the epic battle at WrestleMania III against Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat. A year later at WrestleMania IV in Atlantic City, NJ, he earned the right to become the WWF Champion after winning an 8-man tournament.

Several months later, Savage teamed up with WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan to form the Mega Powers. After they were successful for a period of time, they became rivals & headlined major pay-per-views, such as WrestleMania V. With a lot of time gone by, Randy Savage became the Macho King with WWE Hall of Famer Sensational Sherri by his side. However, the union didn't last for very long as Miss Elizabeth reunited with Savage at WrestleMania VII after his career-ending match with The Ultimate Warrior and got married later on in the year at SummerSlam.

Throughout his career, Macho Man was recognized as one of the best, whether it was in the WWF/WWE or even WCW. Outside of wrestling, Savage was known for his Slim Jim commercials and was gracious enough to play the roll of Bonesaw in the top hit movie, Spider-Man.
