Lions ready for their promising 2011 NFL season
The Detroit Lions ended the 2010 season on a high note. A note that left some thinking playoffs for the next season. Then the NFL lockout was in effect and in the middle of that, the Lions drafted National Champion Nick Fairley from Auburn, along with several others. By the end of July, the wishes of every player, coach, & fan were granted when the lockout was officially lifted.
Although free agency became a wild event this year, the Lions kept relatively quiet while still seeking a legitimate playoff run. Despite the lockout holding back key events, such as workouts and reasonable days of training camp, the Lions made up for it by having certain players, such as Matthew Stafford, recover from last year's injuries. With the preseason set to begin this Friday at Ford Field against the Cincinnati Bengals, the Lions are ready to prove that they are for real.
