Will power & determination would best describe the St. Louis Cardinals as they avoided defeat twice in the 9th & 10th inning to win it in the 11th inning, thanks to David Freese's solo homerun, to force Game 7 against the Texas Rangers with a 10-9 victory.

Not once, but twice, the Rangers were one out away from winning the World Series. Leading 7-5 in the 9th inning, with one more out to go, Fresse hit a two-run triple off the wall to tie the game at 7 & send the game into the 10th inning.

Once in extras, Josh Hamilton nailed a two-run homerun to give Texas a 9-7 lead. In the bottom of the 10th with two runners on base & one more out to go for the Rangers, Lance Berkman hit a single that tied the game once again at nine.

After a scoreless 11th inning for Texas, Fresse came through with a homerun down center field that erupted with cheers from his teammates & the crowd as St. Louis survived to play a Game 7 this Friday night at Busch Stadium. And thanks to a rainout this past Wednesday, the Cardinals are able to start their ace Chris Carpenter on three-days rest against the Rangers' Matt Harrison.

With clear skies & light winds in the forecast, both teams will be set to play the final Major League Baseball game of 2011 this Friday night at 8 pm ET.
