Red Wings snap 6-game skid by shutting out Anaheim, 5-0
Nicklas Lidstrom had two goals & an assist and Jimmy Howard made 22 saves for his 7th NHL shutout as the Detroit Red Wings finally snapped a six-game losing streak by defeating the Anaheim Ducks, 5-0.
Niklas Kronwall and Henrik Zetterberg also scored for the Detroit and Ian White had two assists. The Red Wings outshot the Ducks 17-1 in the first 13:30 of the game. Zetterberg made it 2-0 at 1:55 of the second period when he scored his third of the season.
Lidstrom’s second of the game came on the power play 1:39 into the third period on a slap shot from inside the blue line. It was his fifth goal of the season.
