Detroit Red Wings forward Pavel Datsyuk was a plus-4 with three assists and three shots on net in just over 15 minutes of ice time as he helped lead Team Chara to a 12-9 win over Team Alfredsson at the 2012 NHL All-Start game in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

Former Red Wing Marion Hossa broke an 8-8 tie by scoring on a partial breakaway after being set up by his former teammate Datsyuk with 7:56 left. Settling the puck, Hossa stopped in front and then backhanded a shot past Brian Elliott.

Red Wings goalie Jimmy Howard, also on Team Chara, started the game and yielded three goals on 14 shots in the first period. However, the highlight of his night was on a penalty shot when Tampa Bay Lightning's Steven Stamkos — who leads the NHL with 32 goals — attempted a spin-around move, but Howard didn’t bite as he held his ground by hugging the post to stop Stamkos’ attempt. It was only the second penalty shot taken in All-Star game history.

The Red Wings return to action this Tuesday as they kick off the 2nd half of the season in Canada when they face the Calgary Flames at 9 pm ET.
