Among the fans at Joe Louis Arena this is as much of a playoff atmosphere for a record that took 36 years to break. Detroit did beating the Dallas Stars in a defensive battle 3-1
The Wings took over this NHL record that was held by the 75-76 Flyers and 29-30 Boston Bruins. Now the 4th best home winning streak in North American Major Professional Sports Leagues at 21 in a row currently.
Henrik Zetterberg opened the scoring on an isolated play where Zetterberg shot the puck deflected off of a Stars defenseman's stick back to him and shot it past Dallas goalie Kari Lehtonen. Brad Stuart's shot that was screen by two Dallas forward scored his 5th of the season. Jiri Hudler scores his 18th late in the third.
Balance the Red Wings have with 10 players with double figures in scoring.
In this streak the Wings have had 6 shutouts...Detroit last loss was Nov 3rd of last year against Calgary.
