NHL CONFERENCE QUARTERFINALS

A new playoff season is upon us, but the scene is slightly different. Only two out of 16 teams made it in from Canada (Vancouver & Ottawa). St. Louis & Florida won their respective divisions. And Red Wing fans won't have to stay up past their bedtime to watch a hockey game (at least for one round). Speaking of Detroit, they enter the playoffs without home-ice advantage. Unless the top four teams fall, the Joe Louis Arena will see very little playoff action this year. The 2012 NHL Stanley Cup playoffs begin this Wednesday night!
