Brandon Inge the face of the Tigers through the tough times especially in the early 2000's was given his unconditional release after a 5-4 loss to the Seattle Mariners.

He was drafted in the second round of the 1998 amateur draft, debut on April 3rd, 2001, helping Detroit to the World Series in 2006 where he had 27 home-runs and 83 RBI. With keys injuries on both of his knees then the decrease amount of productivity start coming around.

Tiger Management gave Inge a chance in Spring Training to play for their second base job, but hit .100 did not do the job. Twelve years in the major with one team Inge showed class and understanding that its a business and he will have to move on.
