Tigers starter Max Scherzer lasted into the fifth inning allowing eight runs and the Indians beat Detroit 9-6. Scherzer gave up a three run homer to Michael Brantley for the Indians 3-0 lead in the first. Detroit's Don Kelly hit his first homerun of the year in the third inning.

Being down 8-2 in the fifth Detroit scored four led by RBI Doubles from Miguel Cabrera and Rookie Quintin Berry. Cabrera also hit his 12th of the year.

Tigers bullpen allowed a run and two hits with five strikeouts in close to five innings of work.
