Devils avoid sweep with 3-1 in over Kings in Game 4
Adam Henrique scored the tiebreaking goal with 4:29 to play and Martin Brodeur made 21 saves as the New Jersey Devils beat the Los Angeles Kings, 3-1 to avoid a sweep in the Stanley Cup Finals.
Patrik Elias and Ilya Kovalchuk also scored 3rd-period goals for the Eastern Conference champion Devils, who prevented Los Angeles from equaling Edmonton's 16-2 run through the 1988 postseason - back in the days of a 21-team league and with five future Hall of Famers on the Oilers' roster.
Despite not giving L.A. a reason to party that night, the Kings will try again as they take their 12-game road winning streak back to New Jersey for Game 5 this Saturday night.
