Max Scherzer pitched into the seventh inning allowing five runs and the Tigers only had six hits losing in Boston 7-3.
Austin Jackson hit a solo homer in the first inning his 11th for a 1-0 lead. Down 2-1 the Tigers Miguel Cabrera had an RBI single scoring Omar Infante tying the game at two.
Scherzer (10-6) gave up a two run homer to Dustin Pedroia in the sixth and lasted until the seventh. Detroit still 1.5 games out of first place in the American League Central.
