The Tigers defeated the Toronto Blue Jays in Lakeland Friday 4-2. Austin Jackson scored three runs, and Jhony Peralta whacked a long home-run giving Detroit four runs off of Toronto starter Ricky Romero. Tigers starter Rick Porcello allowed only two earned runs in five innings continuing his pursuit of the final spot in Detroit's rotation. The Tigers will send RHP Shawn Hill to the mound on Saturday to face the St.Louis Cardinals.
