The Tigers were scheduled to start at 1:05 on Wednesday, but the rain caused a 2 hour, 29 minute delay. When things got started Detroit went right to work. The Tigers scored in the first, second, and fifth innings with RBI from Fielder, Infante, Hunter, and Peralta, giving them a commanding 6-1 lead. The Blue Jays would come roaring back. Toronto sent Tiger starter Rick Porcello to the bench when he gave up three consecutive hits in the sixth. Those three hitters would go on to score. Detroit's beleaguered
bullpen was rocked when Darin Downs and Brayan Villarreal gave up a combined four runs giving Toronto a 8-6 win. Detroit hopes to win the rubber game on Thursday when they send RHP Doug Fister (1-0) to the mound to face Toronto RHP Josh Johnson (0-0) weather permitting.
