With Jimmy Howard still ailing from a hand injuryfor the second straight game, goaltender Jonas Gustavsson filled in and stopped 36 shots as the Detroit Red Wings earned a 2-1 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets at the Joe Louis Arena.

Newly acquired right wing Daniel Alfredsson scored his first goal for Detroit in the 1st period with a little help from Pavel Datsyuk & Henrik Zetterberg. Detroit’s second goal came in the form of a power play from Todd Bertuzzi.

As it stands now, Howard is listed as questionable for this Thursday’s night game at Colorado. Game time is set for 9 pm.
