Interceptions cost Lions as they fall to Tampa Bay, 24-21
Matthew Stafford threw four interceptions, including the last one that was dislodged from Calvin Johnson’s hands by a backup safety near the goal line with 50 seconds to play, as the Detroit Lions suffered their second straight loss, 24-21, to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Ford Field.
Johnson had seven catches for 115 yards for the Lions and Nate Burleson, in his first game back since breaking his arm in a September car crash, finished with seven catches for 77 yards.
Despite the loss , the Lions (6-5) are still tied for first place in the NFC North with Chicago as they head into this week’s Thanksgiving game at Ford Field against Green Bay without Aaron Rodgers, who is unable to compete due to injury.
