Johnson & Riddick pull through to help Lions beat Miami, 20-16
Matthew Stafford's 11-yard touchdown pass to Theo Riddick with 29 seconds remaining helped the Detroit Lions to a 20-16 win over the Miami Dolphins. It was Detroit's fourth straight victory and the past three have been by a combined six points, all with 4th-quarter comebacks.
Returning from ankle injury, wide receiver Calvin Johnson finished with seven catches for 113 yards and a touchdown as the Lions (7-2) remained in first place in the NFC North division. Detroit equaled their best record since 1954, when the Lions won eight of their first nine games.
The pursuit of the playoffs continue next week when Detroit travels out west to the desert in Arizona to face the Cardinals, who are also division leaders in the NFC West. Game time is set for 4:25 pm.
