Time runs out on late rally as Florida stuns Detroit, 4-3
Aaron Ekblad scored the eventual game-winner and Vincent Trocheck, who called the Joe Louis Arena home when he played youth hockey, added a goal to help the Florida Panthers end the Detroit Red Wings' four-game winning streak, 4-3.
Detroit's Gustav Nyquist scored with 59 seconds left in the game to cut Florida's lead to one, but the Red Wings never got another good chance. Tomas Tatar & Pavel Datsyuk each scored their 10th goals and goaltender Jimmy Howard made 27 saves for Detroit.
The Red Wings will look to get back on the winning track this Thursday night when they host the Dallas Stars inside the Joe Louis Arena at 7:30 pm.
