Pistons suffer tough loss in OT to Philadelphia, 108-101
The Philadelphia 76ers held the Detroit Pistons without a field goal in overtime for a 108-101 win to earn their second victory of the season. The Pistons lost their 11th straight game in a matchup of teams with the NBA's two worst records. Josh Smith led Detroit with 23 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists.
Detroit (3-17) now leads Philadelphia by only a game in the Eastern Conference standings and both teams entered the night with a combined record of 4-34, the second-worst in NBA history for teams about to play each other -- with a minimum of 38 combined games. The 76ers and Buffalo Braves were 4-35 when entered their meeting over 42 years ago, according to STATS.
The Pistons will look to finally break their streak this Sunday evening at 6 pm inside the Palace of Auburn Hills against a team they got one of their three wins from, Oklahoma City.
