Early domination helps Pistons beat the Heat, 108-91
D.J. Augustin had 25 points and 13 assists as the Detroit Pistons ended the 1st quarter on a 25-1 run, which led to a 108-91 victory over the Miami Heat at the Palace of Auburn Hills. In the five games he started since taking over for Brandon Jennings, who is out for the season due to a ruptured Achilles tendon, Augustin has averaged 22 points and nine assists.
Andre Drummond had 14 points & 14 rebounds for the Pistons. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope scored 18 points while Greg Monroe finished the night with 12 points & nine rebounds. Detroit is now 2 1/2 games behind Miami and Charlotte, who currently hold the last two playoff spots in the Eastern Conference.
The Pistons will hit the road this Wednesday night as they travel to Indiana to take on the Pacers at 7 pm.
