Tigers destroy Florida Southern College to start Grapefruit League play, 17-5
The snow falls here in Michigan but the smell is in the air for the start of Spring Training and finally playing games. The Tigers had a huge day against Florida Southern College In Lakeland winning 17-5. Brennan Boesch had a three-run homer while starter Andy Oliver pitched two innings allowing just 2 hits. Tigers Manager Jim Leyland mentioned today that Miguel Cabrera will be starting on Opening Day in Yankee Stadium.
